The Canton Reference 9 is a high-end compact loudspeaker that combines sophisticated acoustic engineering, premium materials, and elegant German craftsmanship. Designed to deliver powerful sound from a compact enclosure, it features advanced BCT driver technology, a carefully tuned bass-reflex system, and a precision-engineered cabinet for detailed, dynamic, and natural music reproduction.

Advanced BCT Driver Technology

The Reference 9 features a 174 mm Black Ceramic Tungsten (BCT) midrange/woofer that combines low mass, high rigidity, and excellent internal damping. This advanced diaphragm technology supports precise bass and midrange reproduction with excellent control and minimal distortion.

Clear and Detailed High Frequencies

A 25 mm Black Ceramic (BC) tweeter, featuring an aluminium oxide ceramic diaphragm, delivers transparent high frequencies and fine musical detail. Its performance complements the BCT midrange/woofer to create a balanced and coherent soundstage.

Bass Guide Technology

Canton’s integrated Bass Guide system is incorporated into the speaker base and uses a downfire bass-reflex design to support efficient low-frequency reproduction. This arrangement helps the compact Reference 9 deliver powerful bass while allowing flexible placement on a sideboard or on the optional Reference LS speaker stands.

Precision-Engineered Cabinet

The Reference 9 features a curved multilayer cabinet with rounded side panels, top, bottom, and front baffle. This design helps reduce edge diffraction and unwanted cabinet resonances, supporting smoother sound dispersion and more accurate musical reproduction.

Premium Crossover and Room Compensation

A precision-engineered crossover uses carefully selected components to coordinate the drivers and maintain balanced sound reproduction. Integrated Room Compensation (RC) allows the tweeter level to be adjusted in 1.5 dB increments, helping tailor high-frequency response to room acoustics and personal listening preferences.

WBT nextgen™ Terminals and German Craftsmanship

WBT nextgen™ speaker terminals provide a reliable, high-quality connection between the loudspeaker and amplifier. Manufactured in Germany, the Reference 9 features a refined cabinet finish, magnetically attached acoustic fabric grilles, and carefully engineered construction designed for both performance and long-term quality.
