Advanced BCT Driver Technology

The Reference 5 features Black Ceramic Tungsten (BCT) diaphragms in its woofers and midrange driver. Engineered for an excellent stiffness-to-weight ratio, this technology helps minimise distortion while delivering precise, detailed, and controlled sound reproduction.

Powerful and Controlled Bass

Two 174 mm BCT woofers work with Canton’s Bass Guide system to produce deep, well-defined bass with excellent control. The downfire bass-reflex design supports efficient low-frequency reproduction, delivering a solid foundation for both music and home theater applications.

Natural Midrange and Detailed High Frequencies

A dedicated 174 mm BCT midrange driver reproduces vocals and instruments with natural tonality and fine detail. The 25 mm aluminium oxide ceramic tweeter delivers clear, refined high frequencies, creating a balanced and coherent soundstage.

Precision-Engineered Cabinet

The Reference 5 features a distinctive curved cabinet with rounded front baffles and multilayer construction. Precision-machined panels and carefully engineered internal structures help reduce unwanted cabinet resonances while improving sound dispersion and stereo imaging.

Wave Beading and TCC Technology

Canton’s Wave Beading technology supports smooth diaphragm movement and accurate transient response, even at high volume levels. Triple Curved Cone (TCC) technology further stabilises the midrange diaphragm and helps reduce unwanted resonances for precise, low-distortion reproduction.

Premium Connectivity and Room Adjustment

WBT nextgen™ terminals provide high-quality signal connections and support bi-wiring and bi-amping configurations. Integrated Room Compensation (RC) controls allow the midrange and tweeter levels to be adjusted in 1.5 dB increments, helping tailor the tonal balance to room acoustics and personal listening preferences.
